5062C – Explore the World of English Paper Piecing – Diamond $43

Michele Crawford

www.flowerboxquilts.com

Day: Friday 3 Hrs: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Skill Level: Beginner- intermediate

Slow down, relax, and enjoy sewing with English Paper Piecing (EPP)! A SUPER portable project where you can sew on this project anywhere! There are MANY different shapes that are used in creating designs with fabric and thread in EPP, and diamonds are a FUN shape to sew by itself or connect with a triangle! Michele will teach you a quick and easy way to create EPP diamonds (they are a girl’s “best friend”) using scraps! A short power point program on what you can make and do with diamonds will be presented for inspiration.

In Project 1, learn the basic skill in how to hand sew 6 diamonds, sew them together to make a star, and then add 6 connecting diamonds to make a hexagon.

In Project 2, Michele will teach you how to sew 4 small diamonds together to make a larger diamond, and then sew 6 large diamonds together to make a star.

In Project 3, learn how to sew 3 diamonds together to make a “baby block”, then sew 6 equilateral triangles to the blocks to connect them.

* Please note that this is a FUN, stress free technique class so the projects will not be finished in class.

Handwork Class

Kit Fee: $20 Includes: Fabric for all the shapes for the 3 projects, 8 ½” square of backing (for 1 project); paper pieces for each shape to make 3 projects; two needles (#9 and #10); thread; 3 Mini Wonder Clips; a Sewline water soluble fabric glue pen; and a pattern, and Freezer Paper
