TF04 – Tumbling Blocks $170
Christine Porter Two Days

Fabulous tumbling block floor tiles are seen all over Italy in various colors. Tumbling block quilts are often made up of tedious set-in seams. Not so here! This striking design has the same features as the Attic Windows block in that it appears 3-D but it also has the added element of appearing as though you are looking down into boxes. This is entirely due to the shading and the split diamond at the top of the box. The secret to piecing this quilt, however is that is made up of simple strips, and there are no set-in seams! It couldn’t be easier to achieve this impressive 3-D effect. This is a true tessellation and it could go on into infinity. Skill Level: All.

Supply List: 1,2,7,8,11,12,13,26,27,29,30,32,33,34,35,36. Other Supplies: 4 1/2”x12 1/2” acrylic ruler with 60˚ line. Fabric: 1 1/2 yds. favorite print for borders, 3/4 yd. each to match your print: dark, med. dark, medium, med. light and light, 3/4 yd. dark contrast border. See website for cutting information, www.christineporterquilts.com.
