In class you will have a chance to look at four ways to complete a portrait in fabric. We have four days to study portraits and each of you will learn the four methods, but complete just one style. Each method requires different fabrics, so I suggest you go to my website for detailed descriptions of the methods: Realistic, Collage, Impressionist and Layered. Skill Level All.
Supply List: 1,3,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,26,27,29,30,32,36. Other Supplies: 12”x16” or larger photocopy of a picture you want to reproduce-choose something simple, 1 yd. fusible web (WonderUnder), Teflon ironing sheet, 60/8 or 70/10 Sharp machine needles, 0.05 black Pigma pen, sand and grey Tsukineko fabric pens, 1 spool YLI smoke monofilament, 1 spool Bottom Line. Fabric: Background fabric at least 6” larger all around than photo, 1 yd. thin cotton batting, 1 yd. backing, 1/2 yd. fabric for first border, 1 yd. fabric for second border, scraps to match picture.
