Color Science with Heather Purcell (Mother Superior)

Heather is the mastermind behind all our wonderful thread lines and colors. She will discuss how to choose the right thread for the right fabric. She covers the four general questions regarding the thread you choose to use: use, color, texture and attitude. She will illustrate the many effects you can achieve in your project by using the correct thread and color.

Open Thread Bar
One of the most popular classes. This hands-on class provides students with a variety of areas in which they can test and play with the threads. Students learn how to audition threads by doing thread play on provided fabric panels. We will have a large selection of threads available for the students to use. This is a rare opportunity to experiment with many different threads and have the guidance and assistance of a professional teacher to help with any questions or concerns.

Fun with Fusible Thread
Learn some uses of Charlotte's Fusible Thread. It's always so much fun to be introduced to a product with multiple uses. This thread can be used in applique projects as well as quilt binding and garment hemming. You will be making a project in class using the fusible thread and decorative thread. All the supplies are included in this class.

Texture Magic Madness
Make a tote bag using fabric and Texture Magic. Annie Unrein has demonstrated Texture Magic at many quilt shows and markets across the county. She is a wonderful teacher who is both friendly and informative. Students have so much fun using this innovative shrinking fabric. Most students will leave with a completed bag. They will also leave with many ideas for future use of Texture Magic. This class will definitely get your creative juices flowing.
