Made by Patti K Van Oordt
Quilted by Corliss Allender
Started in 2008, Finished in 2010
Design basis: Book
Artist statement: As I was paper piecing all the flowers and leaves for this quilt, I thought I must be insane to do such a huge project; there are thousands of pieces. When I gave it to Cory to quilt, we decided to make it a collaboration effort. She did a lot of ruler work and the use of silver metallic thread brings the gray batik to life. Painting inside the leaf rings and around all the flowers was her idea as was couching thread.

Quilted by Linda M Thielfoldt
Started in 2009, Finished in 2010
Design basis: Wild Goose Chase Block
Artist statement: A friend gave me a box of solid fabrics and not having worked with solids I challenged myself to come up with a quilt that would showcase some feathers. “Wild Goose Chase” block was the perfect choice. All the feather designs are my own and after I quilted the outer border I decided to scallop the edges following the quilting design which really punched things up. Some of the colors would not be found in a traditional Amish quilt hence the name.
